East Europe Foundation is an implementing partner of a program that will provide microgrants to small businesses and will last from May 2022 to February 2023.
Within the program, 350 micro and small enterprises affected by russia’s armed aggression in Ukraine will receive financing of UAH 150 000 (equivalent to EUR 4 000). The aim is to support businesses in the resumption of production or provision of services during the time of war.
The enterprises which were registered in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv oblasts in accordance with the Law of Ukraine no later than December 31, 2021, and which meet the eligibility criteria can apply to receive a microgrant. The applications can be submitted on Diia Portal by May 30, 2022. The application review period is approximately one month.
During the selection process, priority will be given to the enterprises which specialize in providing vital goods and services to Ukrainians and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The expert commission will consist of independent business experts and the representatives of state authorities and a specialized state institution who will determine the most relevant applications and conduct interviews with the pre-selected enterprises.
The initiative is implemented within the Program “EU4Business: SME Competitiveness and Internationalisation” which is co-financed by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by the German Federal Company “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The mechanism was developed jointly with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Diia Portal, Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, and the National Project for Entrepreneurship Development Diia.Business.
East Europe Foundation within the program is responsible for forming the expert commission, issuance of grants, control over their intended use, and reporting.
