On July 24, 2023, at 13:00, the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency in Kyiv (Reytarska Street 8/5A) will host a public expert discussion “Local communities in the wartime: how and why to perform better?

The following topics will be discussed at the event:

  • War requires greater responsibility, better performance and ability to predict the post-war situation. How can local governments include this dimension in their activities today?
  • War challenges in communities and ways to overcome them: the case of Uman community.
  • Monitoring and evaluation for communities: how does it work?
  • What opportunities are offered by East Europe Foundation to address the problems of local communities during the war.

The speakers:

  • Vira Nedzvedska, Program Manager, East Europe Foundation
  • Anatolii Tkachuk, Director of Research and Development at the Institute of Civil Society
  • Olha Krasovska, independent evaluator, Head of Ukrainian Evaluation Association in 2020-2023
  • Iryna Pletnova, Uman mayor, Cherkasy region

The event will be moderated by Liubov Ropalo, local development, grants, and project management expert.
