Competition for the position of lawyer

East Europe Foundation announces a competition for the position of lawyer.

Scope of work and duties of the expert:

  • Providing legal support to EEF’s activities within an international technical assistance program (hereinafter the Program).
  • Drafting contracts, additional agreements, memoranda, other relevant documents; conducting legal analysis of such documents.
  • Providing written and oral legal consultations, recommendations,and legal opinions, including on the execution of projects within the Program, on organizational and other legal issues of EEF’s ongoing activities.
  • Participating in negotiations with EEF’s counterparties regarding the conclusion of contracts, additional agreements, memoranda, and other similar documents.
  • Representing EEF’s interests in enterprises, organizations, and other institutions of all forms of ownership.
  • Providing legal expertise regarding the current legislation of Ukraine and/or regarding the draft regulations and their potential impact.
  • Participating in consideration of appeals from individuals and legal entities, providing legal support in preparing responses to such appeals.
  • Analysing the judicial practice in the field of contract law in order to develop appropriate proposals to eliminate perceived flaws and improve EEF’s performance.
  • Working with state and foreign registers and databases.
  • Submitting requests to obtain information in public domain.
  • Correspondence with EEF’s counterparties.
  • Participating in working groups, meetings and seminars, other public events.
  • Preparing and arranging informational and analytical materials for events, reports, and presentations.
  • Performing other tasks related to legal support of EEF’s initiatives.

The candidate should:

  • Have exceptional self-organization, independence, focus on the results, and willingness to learn.
  • Have efficient communication and negotiation skills.
  • Be able to work in a team, be diligent and wise in performing the tasks.
  • Be able to adapt to changes and successfully set and adjust priorities if needed.

Necessary qualifications and experience:

  • Higher legal education, bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree) in law.
  • At least 3 years of confirmed relevant experience in legal consulting.
  • Confident PC and MS Office user.
  • Mandatory fluency in the Ukrainian language, preferably also proficiency in English.
