Uncertainty affects almost every area of our lives – personal, professional, national, or geopolitical. That makes risk management the top competence to be mastered to turn every challenge into an opportunity, especially for the successful project implementation.
“ We live in a VUCA environment dominated by volatility (the possibility of rapid change), uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. Any organization, especially if cooperating with international partners in wartime, experiences it. The complexity of global challenges will increase, therefore, our Foundation sees the risk management development as one of the key competencies,” says Tetiana Mazur, Project Management Office (PMO) Manager, PMP®.
Recently, Tetiana received the international PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. It is one of the most complex certifications to confirm expertise in risk management, from a single project to the strategic management of project and program portfolios. Certified professionals know the tools that help them identify, analyze, and resolve risks. In civil society sector, the ability to ensure resilience in unstable conditions and get the trust of donors and partners is crucial, which makes the developed risk management culture particularly relevant.
“Nowadays, in the civil society sector, there is a growing demand for experts aware of such professional project management standards as PMBOK, as well as Risk Management in Portfolios, Programs, and Projects: A Practice Guide. For me, PMI-RMP® certification is a contribution to my capability to identify risks, design efficient response plans, and strengthen the Foundation’s organizational resilience,” adds Tetiana.
You need at least three years of experience in risk management, 30+ hours of relevant training, and successfully pass an exam ( 115 behavioral questions in English (Arabic/Chinese) in 2.5 hours)) to get PMI-RMP®.
