More Grants to Help People

We continue to tell stories about the Ukrainian NGOs that received grants under the Together We Shelter Program.

We are currently implementing the second wave of the Program: 16 organizations have received up to UAH 950,000 in grants to prepare and distribute humanitarian aid in the form of non-food items. The main beneficiaries are people affected by the war.

Today we are going to tell about six NGOs that were awarded grants as part of the Together We Shelter Program.

  • Charitable Foundation “Peaceful Sky of Kharkiv”. After the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion, the organization focused on providing the affected population of Kherson with hot meals, hygiene and food packages. Now the nongovernmental organization is striving to improve the life of local residents through providing non-food items that can be used when people are hiding in bomb shelters. As part of the project, the organization will distribute 130 non-food sets.
  • Charitable Foundation “Caritas Kyiv” will deliver non-food kits to IDP households and local residents in selected  communities in the Kyiv region. The team plans to distribute 120 kits, which will include bedding, pillows, blankets, towels, and kitchen utensils. The main focus will be on socially isolated and lonely elderly people, seriously ill people, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups of the population.
  • Charitable Foundation “Blago” will aim to support people in the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv. The humanitarian aid will be provided primarily to families of social workers, utility workers, doctors and other critical infrastructure workers, IDPs and those who care for relatives with disabilities. It is planned to distribute 130 non-food kits for use in shelters and 40 kits for home improvement.
  • Charitable Foundation “Building the Future Together” also operates in Kharkiv region. The organization plans to provide assistance to nearly 700 people living in the de-occupied village of Ruska Lozova. Almost all the infrastructure here has been destroyed, and 70% of residential buildings have significant damage. So the support of the population is extremely important. Thanks to the grant, “Building the Future Together” will distribute more than 260 non-food kits to help people improve their everyday lives.
  • Charitable Foundation “Promoting Development” takes care of internally displaced persons and vulnerable families in the de-occupied settlements of Kyiv region. The organization will prepare and deliver 45 kits for IDP households, which will include blankets, towels, and bed linen. The organization will also distribute 109 family kits for local residents to use in bomb shelters. The kits will include futons, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and lanterns.
  • Charitable Foundation “Nation’s Pride UA” seeks to provide humanitarian aid to internally displaced persons currently residing in Novomoskovsk, Dnipro region. As part of the project, the NGO team will provide 200 household kits. The project focus is vulnerable families, people with disabilities, large families, low-income and single-parent families.
