First Impulse for Change

Instead of waiting for change — be its creators.
With this spirit, 29 civil society organizations embarked on their journey within the Impulse Project, a joint initiative with the International Renaissance Foundation.

This week, we held the first coordination meeting with the winners of the institutional grant competition. Teams from across Ukraine gathered to connect and establish key principles of collaboration. Ahead of them lies three years of dedicated effort: strengthening team dynamics, enhancing managerial and financial capacity, and optimizing overall efficiency.

“Today marks the beginning of a collective journey to empower your organizations. Success requires joint effort — we are here to support, inspire, and assist you at every step. Most importantly, we embark on this path together,” Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation, said in his address to the teams.

Over two days, participants engaged in networking, shared experiences, tackled challenges, and deepened their expertise. They explored systematic approaches to monitoring and evaluation, delved into financial management and reporting, and tackled practical accounting cases.

Meanwhile, communication managers examined the role of artificial intelligence in daily operations and honed their ability to craft meaningful, inspiring narratives.

It was a powerful beginning. We take pride in standing alongside organizations unafraid to transform themselves in pursuit of national progress.

The Impulse Project is carried out by East Europe Foundation and the International Renaissance Foundation, with the support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
