Board Updates

On June 6 and 10, 2025, East Europe Foundation held its regular semi-annual Board meeting — a key event that brings together the EEF’s management team and Board of Directors to review progress, discuss strategic priorities, and plan the way forward.

During the meeting, the EEF’s team presented the results of its work over the past six months, covering programmatic developments, communications, fundraising, and operational management. The agenda also included discussions on the current security situation in Ukraine, shifting societal needs, and how EEF has been adapting its work in response to these evolving challenges.

“These meetings are far more than a formality. They are an essential part of our culture of transparency and accountability — principles we consistently uphold in our work with donors, partners, and the public,” said Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.

A highlight of this year’s meeting was the update to the composition of the Board. EEF expresses its sincere gratitude to Timur Bondaryev, Sevgil Musayeva, and Sergiy Gusovsky for their years of dedicated service, leadership, and valuable contribution to strengthening EEF’s institutional capacity.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome three new members to the Board:

  • Mattia Nelles, a German political scientist, analyst, and researcher specializing in Ukraine’s transformation processes;

  • William Horton Beebe-Center, President Emeritus of the Eurasia Foundation, with decades of experience supporting democratic development across the region;

  • Peter Dickinson, a British journalist, political analyst, and editor of UkraineAlert at the Atlantic Council.

The full composition of the Board is available here.

As part of the Board meeting agenda, consultations were also held with representatives of Ukrainian and international businesses, diplomatic missions, government institutions, and civil society counterparts. These discussions provided broader context and valuable insights to inform the EEF’s future strategic approaches and ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of our work.

East Europe Foundation extends its deep appreciation to all partners and participants for their trust, support, and shared commitment to driving meaningful change.
