New Citizens’ Activity Centre

On 16 June, a new Citizens’ Activity Centre was opened in the Solonianska community, Dnipro Oblast! This is the eighth CAC opened with the support of the EGAP Program and East Europe Foundation.

Quick reminder: Citizens’ Activity Centres are modern spaces where residents of villages and small towns can exchange views and host various events, from public hearings to training workshops. Communities bring together active residents, motivate local youth to implement exciting projects, and serve as a platform for women’s participation.

And the full-scale invasion made them become centres of local volunteering and shelters for hundreds of internally displaced persons.

For three years, EGAP Program has been opening Citizens’ Activity Centres in pilot communities of Ukraine. Neither the global pandemic nor the great war stood in the way.
