The Human Dimension of Recovery

East Europe Foundation team took part in the event “A Vision of Resilience 2.0: The Human Dimension of Recovery”. This event was an important step in the formation of a common position of civil society and experts on the eve of the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in Rome on July 10–11.

The discussion was initiated by the International Renaissance Foundation team within the framework of our joint project “Impulse”.

In his speech, Victor Liakh, President of the Foundation, emphasized that the recovery of Ukraine is not only about infrastructure, but also about people. He highlighted the following key issues in his speech:

  • Education and human potential. Children who have survived the pandemic and the war have a significant academic disadvantage. It is important to provide them with quality education and prospects in Ukraine.
  • Inclusion. From physical accessibility to social integration, every citizen should feel equal.
  • Gender equality. The labor market is changing, and it is important to consider gender balance in the recovery process.
  • Role of civil society. Technology, e-governance and innovation are key to effective recovery. It is important to introduce modern management approaches that will strengthen the role and capabilities of citizens.

The key topic of the event was the finalization of the document “A Vision of Resilience 2.0. The Human Dimension”. It contains specific proposals for the Government, local authorities and international partners to support human development in the process of recovery of Ukraine.

More about the document “A Vision of Resilience 2.0. The Human Dimension” was shared by our partners here.

The event was held within the framework of the Impulse project implemented by East Europe Foundation and the International Renaissance Foundation with the support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
