Support groups

The Center for Civic Initiatives “Public Dimension” organizes support groups every week in Lviv and other cities throughout Ukraine. In Lviv, the support groups focus on providing resources and a sense of community to volunteers, who are prone to burnout. These groups are expanding, and anyone can join whenever it is convenient for them. Participants appreciate the opportunity to share their experiences and be heard in a supportive environment.

Public Dimension has been working with local communities for seven years, and since February 24, 2022, the organization has noticed an increased need for psychological support among Ukrainians. Support groups in other cities are primarily attended by internally displaced persons (IDPs), members of communities hosting IDPs, volunteers, and family members of military servicemen.

Aside from Lviv, similar support groups are available in ten other regions of Ukraine, including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia. The support group works as part of the project «Primary, Safe and Cost-Effective Psychosocial Support for the War-Affected Population of Ukraine», which is implemented by the NGO Center for Civic Initiatives «Public Dimension» within the framework of the Capable and Resistant Project implemented by East Europe Foundation with the support by Switzerland.
