Ecology in communities

From now on, communities connected to the SVOI Platform and equipped with air quality monitoring sensors can automatically generate a widget and a page on their website called ‘Eco-monitoring’.

The new page will provide:

  •     quick access to data on dust content of the air, temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, and other indicators that are relevant to both residents and scientists;
  •     prompt and convenient informing of residents about high air pollution levels;
  •     the ability to learn about the increased threat to the health of residents who are sensitive to hazardous substances in the air;
  •     access to data on the background radiation level, which is important to monitor in the context of a nuclear threat.

The EGAP Program helped 28 pilot communities in Volyn, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, and Odesa Oblasts install two monitoring stations each.

The SVOI Platform is already used by 370 communities across Ukraine.

The SVOI platform was created within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
