Diia.Osvita at the Learning Technologies Awards

Diia.Osvita has won the Bronze award in the Best Use of Blended Learning — Public & Non-Profit Sector category at the prestigious international Learning Technologies Awards 2025.

The Learning Technologies Awards are among Europe’s most influencial distinctions in the field of educational technology. Each year, the event brings together leading EdTech projects from around the globe, covering 21 different categories.

The international jury commended Diia.Osvita for its thoughtful approach to instructional design:

This entry was a wonderful example of learning design in service of national resilience and societal progress. The judges were impressed by Diia.Osvita’s accessible, scalable, and innovative approach, which aligns technology with a social purpose.”

The Best Use of Blended Learning — Public & Non-Profit Sector category honours projects that have most successfully combined online learning with physical infrastructure to create a cohesive model.

Diia.Osvita presented a comprehensive ecosystem that includes:

  • An online platform hosting approximately 3 million registered users.
Educational series, simulators, tests, guides, and short ‘skill bytes’.
Users have access to 710 learning products across 7 formats. All content features subtitles, sign language translation, alternative text, and accessibility settings.
  • Offline Digital Education Hubs.
A network of 5,000 educational spaces located in libraries, schools, universities, Administrative Service Centres (ASCs), IT companies, and NGOs across the country. Here, Ukrainians can learn offline with the support of facilitators. Over three years, nearly 40,000 Ukrainians have undergone training in library hubs — comprising 37,000 users and over 2,500 coordinators who assist their communities in mastering digital skills.
  • IT Studios for schools.
A modern Computer Science module featuring hundreds of interactive lessons and exercises, which has already been implemented by over 35% of Ukrainian schools. According to post-pilot surveys at the end of the 2022–2023 academic year, 95% of teachers were ready to recommend IT Studios to their colleagues, with a further 5% willing to do so subject to minor improvements.

This is significant international recognition for Ukrainian state-led EdTech. Being honoured in London demonstrates that Ukrainian digital solutions are competitive on a global level. At the same time, we see national recognition: research indicates Diia.Osvita has become the country’s most well-known digital education platform — recognised by 48% of adults, 45% of teenagers, 32% of people with hearing impairments, and 82% of people with visual impairments. We continue to make Diia.Osvita even more accessible and innovative by launching our first AI-based tools, updating IT Studio lessons, and expanding the network of digital education hubs across Ukraine,” noted Valeriia Ionan, Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalisation and Global Partnerships.

The Bronze award at the Learning Technologies Awards 2025 confirms that Ukraine is creating modern, scalable, and inclusive educational solutions that meet international standards and strengthen the state’s digital resilience.

Educational projects are a key area of focus for the East Europe Foundation, as we keenly understand the state’s need to build strong human capital. Therefore, international recognition for Diia.Osvita holds special significance for us. This award confirms that Ukraine creates modern, scalable solutions that meet global standards and genuinely work to make education accessible and inclusive. We will continue to support the platform’s development so that millions of Ukrainians can acquire relevant skills and move forward with confidence – both during the war and throughout the country’s recovery,” emphasised Victor Liakh, East Europe Foundation President.

The Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation, is the strategic partner of the Diia.Osvita platform. The platform was updated in 2023 at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation with support from Google.org. Training for coordinators of offline digital education hubs is conducted at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in cooperation with the Ukrainian Library Association NGO within the framework of the DIA Support Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program with funding from Sweden.
