Diia was included in the list of the best inventions of 2024, according to TIME magazine. This year, the Ukrainian product was included in the list of Best Inventions 2024 in the Apps & Software category for its extraordinary impact and bold innovations that make life easier for millions of people.

Today, Diia is one of the world’s best GovTech products. It was in Ukraine that electronic documents were first equated with paper documents and revolutionary services were introduced, such as online marriage or car re-registration.

Within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program implemented by East Europe Foundation, we support the development of the Diia portal and application. In particular, by introducing new e-services in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and other government agencies. One of them is online marriage, thanks to which Diia has been recognized. 

Online marriage is a new and world’s first service that allows you to submit applications, choose a wedding date, and conduct a ceremony online. In the first 2 months, more than 1,3 million Ukrainians have already proposed to each other, almost 7 thousand couples have applied for marriage, and more than 600 couples have gotten married.

The service was developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the State Enterprise National Information Systems, the Digital Office of the Civil Registry Office, the State Migration Service, and Ukrposhta with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program implemented by East Europe Foundation. The technical partner is Cisco, which provided a Cisco Webex video conferencing solution under a memorandum signed with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
