The 2025 Points of Light

The 2025 Points of Light Global Network Gathering is an annual event organized by the Points of Light international non-profit organization. The event brought together NGO leaders to discuss current global threats. Participants from over 20 countries gathered to predict risks, explore adaptation strategies, and propose solutions. Among them was Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.

During the panel discussion, “Preparing for the Future in Uncertain Times,” Victor focused on the full-scale invasion as the primary factor shaping discourse not only in Ukraine but also globally. In his view, the steadfast stance of democratic nations significantly impacts the level of support for Ukraine and the future course of the war.

“Ukrainian experts’ assessments often outpace the opinions of global leaders. While the world does not yet feel the threat of a third world war, I believe we are already on the brink of it,” added the President of the Foundation.

The discussion also delved into the strategies organizations use to mitigate potential risks during uncertain times. In the context of the Foundation’s work, Victor emphasized that the team actively fosters a culture of crisis management, and stress resilience, builds strong partnerships, and adheres to the principle of “doing what we do best.”

“Sustainability is a multi-level process. It includes strategic vision, adaptability, partnerships, people-centered leadership, and a commitment to continuous learning. There are no easy solutions, but with the right approach, NGOs can not only survive but also thrive, even in the most difficult conditions!”
