Representatives of East Europe Foundation, led by Vice President for Strategic Partnerships Vira Nedzvedska, participated in the World Café during the “Human Rights: The Long Game” Forum organised by the Kyiv Human Rights Hub.
“The World Café with donors was an important part of the Forum, as our team wanted to create a space and time for short but honest conversations between civil society representatives and donors — those who help implement such important missions and strategies. The World Café format makes it possible to quickly find answers to questions and identify shared challenges and needs. And this is crucial when we talk about the long game and a strong human rights sector,” Manager at the Kyiv Human Rights Hub Ivanna Malchevska noted.
During a series of short discussions, the Foundation’s representatives had the opportunity to talk about key areas of work and current projects that include grant competitions. In turn, Forum participants were able to clarify aspects of competitions they already knew about, learn about new ones, and the educational online platform Zrozumilo!, which offers useful materials that can help in preparing grant applications.
“It was valuable for us to meet with civil society organizations not only to share information about our work but also to hear their feedback on their experience collaborating with us. In particular, we received important insights regarding our Grants portal — a new platform for grant applications that we launched relatively recently and continue improving to make it as user-friendly as possible. We were also pleased to hear that our partners are interested not only in grants but also in learning opportunities,” Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at East Europe Foundation Vira Nedzvedska, shared.
This meeting reaffirmed that the greatest value lies in open dialogue and the willingness to support one another. Such formats help build trust and deepen understanding of the needs, priorities, and areas for cooperation across the civil society sector, contributing to meaningful and lasting change.
