Competition for the position of Grants and Contracts Specialist

East Europe Foundation seeks candidates for the Grants and Contracts Specialist position who will support the administration of EEF’s grants portfolio and short- and long-term contracts under EEF’s programs. The Grants and Contracts Specialist will work under the direction of the Fund’s Financial Director.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Administration management of the Foundation’s grant portfolio.
  • Maintenance of an organized and complete file system with grant documents and contracts.
  • Support of the database with grants and contracts.
  • Preparation of grant documents during the process of a Fund audit.

The Grant component:

  • Administration of the Fund’s grant portfolio: conducting due diligence on applicants before approving a grant, evaluating the budget of the project, preparing grant agreements, releasing grant payments, verifying grantee reports, implementing grant closure procedures.
  • Cooperating with the Fund’s program specialists – analyzing grantee analytical and financial reports for compliance with the terms of the grant agreement, the Fund’s grant policies, and donor requirements.
  • Consulting on the Fund’s grant procedures and financial reporting requirements.
  • Carrying out grant payments and entering information on grant expenditures into the Fund’s accounting system.
  • Visiting to grantees to assess activities on projects financed by the Fund and reviewing documentation on grant expenditures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business management, Rights, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with the standards and practices of Accounting in Ukraine.
  • Previous experience with administering grants and contracts will be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a requirement.
  • Professional familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office are required; Familiarity with MS Project and Accounting software are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective collaboration with colleagues and partners.
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language is required. Fluency in the English language at a level enough to communicate professionally (oral and written communication) is required.
