Sustainability and Engagement of CSOs in Recovery

The study “Level of Sustainability and Engagement of CSOs in the Processes of Recovery and Reconstruction of Territorial Communities” is intended to show the extent to which public and charitable organizations are involved in various areas of recovery and reconstruction, as well as how their resilience affects their ability to participate in these processes.

As part of the Impulse project, we conducted online and telephone surveys of more than 200 CSOs across different regions, as well as focus group discussions. This helped us obtain a comprehensive picture of the state of organizations’ resources and their operational approaches.

The study provides a holistic picture of the capabilities and challenges of the civil society sector today. It helps identify where CSOs are already effectively supporting local communities and where they need additional resources and attention. This will enable donors, authorities, and international partners to invest more strategically in the restoration and strengthening of Ukrainian communities.

The full version of the report contains the methodology, detailed conclusions, and recommendations for further support for civil society organizations during Ukraine’s recovery.

The study was conducted as part of the Impulse project, implemented by East Europe Foundation and the International Renaissance Foundation with the support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
