Work for You

Because of the war, thousands of people have found themselves in new life circumstances: some are changing occupations, while others are returning to civilian life after serving in the Defense Forces.

Every day, the State Employment Service (SES) helps job seekers find real opportunities. Internal migrants (IDPs), ex-combatants and people aged 50+ often need additional support, such as advice on job search and retraining.

In partnership with the State Employment Service, East Europe Foundation is implementing the Work for You Project. We strengthen the capacity of employment centre teams to better support vulnerable groups and make services more responsive to people’s needs. So that everyone who turns to the centre can hear an important message: “We have work for you.”

18 employment centres (6 regional and 12 branches) are participating in the project. They will receive three practical tools for daily work:

  • Coaching program for managers

36 employment centre managers will take part in a six-month coaching programme designed to help them effectively support their teams, implement change, and create a motivating work environment. Based on the project’s results, methodological guidelines will be developed to help managers apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

  • Online course on modern inclusive recruitment

The course will be available on the Zrozumilo! online educational platform and will help career advisors master modern inclusion-focused recruitment methods. A practical guide will accompany the course, offering tips on how to work effectively with vulnerable jobseekers, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), women, ex-combatants, and people aged 50+.

  • Building partnerships with employers

Small and medium-sized businesses often need support in addressing staffing challenges, while large companies are also interested in strengthening cooperation with state employment centres. We will organise thematic job fairs and a partnership forum to bring together SES representatives, employers, and jobseekers — fostering stronger collaboration.

The project also includes an information campaign to help jobseekers learn about SES opportunities and receive support in finding work.

The Work For You Project is being implemented by East Europe Foundation within the framework of the Multi Donor Initiative Skills4Recovery, which is financed by the European Union, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Denmark, and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL).
