Course on Cyber Hygiene

A new free course, “Digital Habits: Think, Click, Verify,” has launched on the Zrozumilo! educational online platform.

Cyber incidents occur around the world every day — and more than 90% of them are linked to human error. Most breaches and data leaks stem from phishing, careless user actions, or improper handling of information.

That’s why cyber hygiene has become critically important. These are the personal rules and habits that help prevent data breaches or at least minimize the risks. Even the most advanced and expensive technological systems can’t fully protect an organization if its employees don’t follow basic principles and best practices of digital security.

To address this need, the Ukrainian GovTech company Kitsoft and East Europe Foundation have developed the course “Digital Habits: Think, Click, Verify.” It consists of five short lectures packed with practical advice.

Throughout the course, participants will:

  • learn about social engineering and the threats associated with it
  • explore how to secure work devices, including risks posed by certain apps, software, and outdated operating systems
  • understand why using open public networks is unsafe
  • learn to create strong passwords and check the security of existing ones
  • see how to protect official information in the age of AI

“Kitsoft has been developing and implementing government digital services for more than 12 years, with millions of Ukrainians using our solutions. Our team created the low‑code platform Liquio, which powers the Diia portal and dozens of other government IT systems. Every day, we encounter cyber risks, address them, and share our insights so that both small startups and large public institutions can become more resilient. As our experience shows, continuous monitoring and employee training enable fast incident response and effective mitigation,” emphasizes Yaroslav Bezzubets, Head of Information Security at Kitsoft and a speaker of the new online course.

The course is designed for employees of government institutions and businesses, community representatives, and local authorities. It will also be useful for anyone who wants to navigate modern digital threats, identify AI‑driven phishing attempts, minimize risks when using public networks, and build their own digital security practices.

Upon successful completion, participants can receive a certificate worth 0.2 ECTS credits, equivalent to six academic hours, which counts as self‑education.
