Meet the Institutional Development Grantees

We are glad to introduce 11 organizations that have joined the Institutional Development Program under the Phoenix Project: Power of Communities, implemented by East Europe Foundation with the support of the European Union.

As part of the competition for organizations that have received grants from East Europe Foundation over the past six years, we received numerous applications from across Ukraine. After a thorough selection process, the expert panel chose 11 organizations that will receive not only grant support but also training, consultations, and mentorship from a team of experts. This will help them strengthen internal processes, empower their teams, and enhance efficiency to drive sustainable change in Ukraine.

Below, we present these organizations and the initiatives they will implement under the project:

The Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research (UCIPR)

Through participation in the project, UCIPR aims to strengthen its institutional capacity, particularly by improving its expertise in analyzing the legal environment for CSOs. The organization’s team will receive training in conducting high-quality research and preparing grant proposals. In addition, UCIPR will develop and disseminate analytical overviews of legislation relevant to CSOs. The project will help the organization preserve its professional potential and enhance its ability to attract grant funding.

Charitable Foundation Building the Future Together

Under the project, the foundation will focus on enhancing its communication capacity and strengthening management and project processes. The team plans to develop and implement a communication strategy and brand book, update the website and communication materials. The organization will also develop an operational plan and key policies, and improve financial management through digital solutions and an audit. The project will contribute to greater efficiency, transparency, and sustainable organizational development.

Charitable Foundation Unity and Strength

The organization will focus on strengthening institutional capacity through improved management systems, financial accounting, and internal policies. It will automate accounting, conduct a financial audit, and provide staff training. Additionally, Unity and Strength will maintain its CRM system, develop a Gender Policy, and establish a Supported Living Service Protocol. Participation in the project will enhance transparency, management efficiency, and the quality of services for beneficiaries.

Civic Network OPORA

The organization plans to strengthen institutional capacity by improving activity planning and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OPORA team will update its 2026 work plan and develop necessary security policies and procedures. The project will help enhance the organization’s preparedness for effective work in security-challenged conditions.

Charitable Foundation Soloma Cats

Within the project, the Solomianski Kotyky Foundation will focus on launching a volunteer program and strengthening its communication capacity. The team will develop a communication strategy, a volunteer policy, and update the foundation’s website. The project will help establish a sustainable volunteer engagement system and improve the effectiveness of the organization’s communication activities.

NGO Crimean Center for Business and Cultural Cooperation “Ukrainian House”

Participation in the project will help the organization strengthen its communication capacity and integrate modern digital tools into its work. The team will develop branding, a communication strategy, and launch a new website. The organization will also integrate AI tools and upgrade its technical equipment. The project will enhance operational efficiency and expand the organization’s opportunities in the digital environment.

NGO Mainstream

The organization will work on improving its organizational structure and internal documents, increasing visibility, and developing the team’s communication skills. Mainstream will update its Statute, develop key policies and a communication strategy, and modernize its visual identity and website. The project will strengthen institutional capacity, improve internal processes, and boost the organization’s external communications.

Ukraine Charity Foundation Source of Revival

The organization plans to introduce a new area of activity focused on cash assistance and mini-grants, as well as provide staff training. In addition, the Source of Revival team will strengthen its communication capacity by updating its website, developing a brand book, and producing new communication materials. The organization will also improve the work of its accounting department and upgrade technical equipment.

NGO Educational Center for Human Rights in Lviv

Under the project, the organization will strengthen the legal, institutional, and communication capacity of its media initiative, Sebto Media. The team will update founding documents, register its online media status, secure intellectual property rights for its products, and develop policies for cooperation with contractors and users. The project will also help the organization’s team develop a new communication strategy, improve content quality, and expand its media audience.

NGO Building Ukraine Together (BUR)

Within the project, BUR will strengthen the institutional capacity of the organization and its regional hubs. The team will analyze its activities, challenges, and potential, and develop a new development strategy. BUR members will also undergo training on safety and volunteer management, enhance communication tools, and update branding. The project will help the organization modernize its approaches, strengthen regional teams, and build trust in its brand for sustainable development.

NGO Lampa

The Lampa team plans to strengthen its management, financial, and communication capacity to enhance overall efficiency. The organization will improve internal policies, conduct staff training, update its brand book, renovate workspaces, and foster team cohesion through a series of activities. In addition, Lampa will conduct a needs assessment in border communities to better respond to the needs of its beneficiaries.
