On December 15 in Zhovkva EEF experts awarded prizes to the winners of several contests devoted to energy efficiency which might be easily implemented at home, at school, in the community. Definetely, the ceremony took place in a very energy efficient place - demonstration class in school #3 of the city which is equipped with models of energy efficient technologies. Contests are a part of the information component of the "Municipal Partnership to Improve Energy Efficiency in Sambir and Zhovkva", which EEF implements in cooperation with the city councils of Zhovkva and Sambir with funding from EU under the "Com-Dep" Program. The project is tasked to improve energy efficiency in Sambir and Zholkva through modernization of municipal infrastructure.
Thus, the youngest schoolchildren participated in a drawing competition covering energy conservation. Totally 37 paintings were submitted to the contest. The winners are Justina Biletskaya (3-A), Oleg Tabala (5-A) and Maxim Petriw (3-A). All the winners received special energy efficiency prizes including solar-powered powerbanks, LED desk lamps etc.
Older schoolchildren took part in a competition writing their essays on "Demonstration class energy efficient technologies: prospects" where they suggest new ways on how to use a demonstration class. The winners are Yaroslav Berko (11-B), Diana Skebskoyi (9-B) and Taras Sidol (8-B). A consolation prize under this contest received a pupil of 6-A class-Catherine Victoria Lemishko.
EEF project experts who were involved in organizing events, also presented all interested citizens the idea of the project and anticipated results for the city. Everyone could also ask questions re energy efficiency.
