About 800 meters of the heating mainline were renovated and the municipal boiler house was modernised in Zhovkva town, Lviv region, under the EU-funded project “Municipal Partnerships for Energy Efficiency in Sambir and Zhovkva”. Thanks to this, the town now uses renewables for central heating and hot water supply. It will save up to 2 million hryvnias of local budget annually. On July 15 EEF and partners conducted "International Anti-Fake Forum: Conference-Workshop on media literacy and dialogue". The Forum which took place in Odesa is a part of the "Support of dialogue’s and media’s competences as a way to understanding in the Ukrainian society and beyond" project, which is implemented by EEF with the support of ChildFund Deutschland e.V. and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. On July 7 two centers for seniors opened in the village of Stepantsy (Kaniv district of Cherkasy oblast ) and in Cherkasy. Center in Stepantsy is based at the premises of the rayon center for social servicesEEF awarded a grant in amount of UAH 223,007 to local Rayon Veterans Organization to implement this project. Organization made renovations and purchased all necessary equipment. Now the Center provides laundry and clothing repair services.
